TZM Alloy Cylinder
We offer cylinders made of pure molybdenum (ASTM B387, Type 361), TZM alloy (type 364), and molybdenum-lanthanum alloy. Custom lengths and diameters are available.
Surface Finish for molybdenum cylinder
Black –Surface covered with processing lubricants and oxides.
Finish turning- The surface is machined by turning, similar to grinding.
Ground – The surface is center-less ground to remove all coating and to achieve precise diameter control.
Molybdenum cylinder is manufactured to customized lengths in diameters ranging from 0.16″ to 6″. A long cylinder with a small diameter is called a rod, while a cylinder with a large diameter is called an ingot. Cylinders will small diameters and lengths can be called pellets.

Molybdenum has a high elastic modulus, and only tungsten and tantalum have higher melting points.
