Zirconia beads are pearl-like luster and smooth beads, and are indispensable tools for grinding. During the grinding process, zirconia beads can make the ground products more refined. Moreover, zirconia beads have high specific gravity, high grinding efficiency, fine microstructure, good wear resistance, and are widely used by manufacturers.

1. Confirm whether the zirconia beads are suitable

Choosing zirconia beads is a key step. Zirconia beads have different hardness, surface smoothness, particle size distribution, abrasion, chemical properties (do not react with materials) and other characteristics. Therefore, according to the type of material you are grinding and the target particle size, combined with the target particle size of the grinding, choose the appropriate zirconia beads.

2. Pre-grinding

When using zirconia beads for the first time, you need to put them into a slurry with a certain viscosity for pre-grinding for thirty minutes. If the slurry concentration is relatively low, you must also reduce the speed, and the time should not exceed 15 minutes.

3. Cleaning

When grinding paint, it is best to use resin to clean the zirconia beads. If you need to use solvents, you need to reduce the speed and the time should not exceed 10 minutes. It is recommended to clean the zirconia beads intermittently, that is, turn on the machine for some time, then turn it off, and then turn it on again.

4. Adding balls

After a period of grinding, the zirconia beads will collide with each other, causing the zirconia beads to wear, so some zirconia beads need to be added as a supplement after a period of use. Note that before adding, use a sieve to sieve out the broken zirconia beads, and then add zirconia beads of the same weight as the broken zirconia beads.

5. Other times to add balls

If the grinding time needs to be extended without changing the grinding fineness requirements, or the grinding fineness does not achieve the ideal effect, a certain amount of zirconia beads needs to be added.

Zirconia ceramic is an inorganic non-metallic material with excellent performance, such as corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance, and wear resistance. Non-Ferrous Crucible Inc. provides zirconia grinding media with various particle sizes.
