Titanium and titanium alloy plates, strips, and foils all play an important role in the production and application of titanium-processed materials. Titanium plates refer to sheet products with a thickness of ≥0.3mm obtained by flat rolling, titanium strips refer to coiled products with a thickness of 0.1~4.76mm obtained by flat rolling and titanium foils refer to sheet products with a thickness of <0.25mm obtained by multiple cycles of cold rolling and annealing. The above three products can be collectively referred to as titanium flat rolling products. Titanium plates, strips, and foils are mainly used in three major sectors: the chemical industry, aerospace and navigation, and medicine. Among them, pure titanium strips are mainly used in the chemical industry, pure titanium plates are used in the aerospace, navigation, and medical fields, and alloy plates and foils are mainly used in the aerospace and navigation fields.

Depending on the chemical composition, product specifications, and usage requirements, the preparation technology of titanium and titanium alloy plates varies greatly. In the rolling forming process, titanium plates can be divided into thick plates (thickness>4.76 mm) and thin plates (thickness≤4.76 mm) according to their thickness. Usually, thick plates are hot rolled to finished size, while thin plates can be selectively hot rolled in a single sheet and then cold rolled to finished size, or wrapped and rolled to finished size. The rolling process of thick plates can regulate the structure and properties by controlling the rolling temperature, rolling direction, and deformation. The preparation process of alloy thin plates adopts two-piece stacking and wrapping rolling processes to improve the deformation and rolling efficiency. In addition, the wrapping rolling process can prepare alloy thin plates with greater deformation resistance and higher crack sensitivity. In terms of rolling equipment, the mainstream plate hot rolling equipment is two-roll, three-roll, four-roll, and eight-roll hot rolling mills, and the width of the hot rolling mill is 1200~4060mm; the mainstream plate cold rolling equipment is four-roll and eight-roll reversible cold rolling mills, and the width of the cold rolling mill is 1200~1780mm. The strip hot rolling equipment is a multi-stand hot rolling mill, and the cold rolling equipment is a twenty-roll Sendzimir cold rolling mill. The plate that reaches the finished size is heat-treated, plate-shaped, and surface-treated to complete the product preparation.
